The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo made its debut, Houston Junior College became the University of Houston and Francis Oliver moved his armature business to their new location at 612 Live Oak. Designed by S.R. Slaughter, a Rice University educated architect, the building was completed in December of 1938 and the Oliver family continued operating for over 40 years.
